WAS, MQSeries and DB2 Implementation

This material describes all the activities required to implement WebSphere, Application Server, WebSphere MQ and DB2 UDB for/on z/OS, Windows, Linux, AIX, SunSolaris, etc. The activities can be divided into the following components:

  • Project Management
  • WebSphere Application Server Implementation
  • WebSphere MQ Implementation
  • DB2 UDB Implementation

Project Management  

  • Description of activities
    • Communicating with the customer through their project leader
    • Preparing documentation and procedures for normal project operation
    • Holding project meetings and solving possible complications
    • Coordinating and managing technical activities of the project staff
  • Requirements

Responsible person appointed by the customer

  • Supplier obligations (SV Group d.o.o.)
    • Appoint a leader-coordinator
  • Customer obligations

Appoint a responsible person whose obligations during the project include:

    • Communicating with the supplier’s project team and with all the employees involved in the project on the part of the customer, as well as with external persons involved in the project
    • Communicating with the supplier’s project leader
    • Collecting and managing information, data, decisions and approvals needed for the undisturbed running of the project within 3 days from the customer’s request, unless agreed otherwise
    • Removing deviations incurred by the customer from the agreed project guidelines
  • Deliveries
    • Project plan
    • Weekly reports on project status
  • Completion criteria
    • This is a permanent activity and will be considered completed at the end of the project.

WebSphere Application Server Implementation

  • Description of activities
    • Planning, installation and configuration of WebSphere Application Server
    • Planning, creating and implementing applications to run on WebSphere Application Server
  • Requirements
    • License for WebSphere Application Server for platforms according to customer’s specification
  • Supplier obligations (SV Group d.o.o)
    • The supplier will appoint a service leader who will be responsible for communicating with the customer, preparing documentation and procedures for normal service operation and coordinating and managing technical activities.
    • Performing activities from the item “Description of activities’
  • Customer obligations
    • Provide entry to the customer’s premises
    • Provide employees with adequate knowledge needed for cooperation on the planned activities
    • Provide suitable working space
    • Provide access to hw/sw resources of the IS customer
    • Provide all the resources needed to install the new software
  • Deliveries
    • Installed and adjusted WebSphere Application Server
    • Implemented applications for WebSphere Application Server
    • Installation documentation
    • Training for work with the new software in the length of no more than 3 days
    • Operator’s manual
  • Completion criteria
    • Successfully executed acceptance tests of the WebSphere Application Server software
    • Successfully executed application tests that are performed on WebSphere Application Server
    • Installation documentation delivered to the customer
    • Successfully completed training for work with WebSphere Application Server
    • Operator’s manual delivered to the customer

WebSphere MQ Implementation

  • Description of activities
    • Planning, installation, configuration and integration of the MQSeries software in the  customer’s IT infrastructure
    • Planning, creating and implementing applications using the MQSeries software
  • Requirements
    • License for the MQSeries software for platforms according to customer’s request
    • Network infrastructure between the computers on which the MQSeries software will be installed (Server and/or customer component)
  • Supplier obligations (SV Group d.o.o)
    • The supplier will appoint a service leader who will be responsible for communicating with the customer, preparing documentation and procedures for normal service operation, as well as coordinating and managing technical activities.
    • Perform activities from the item ‘Description of activities’.
  • Customer obligations
    • Provide entry into the client’s premises
    • Appoint employees responsible for cooperation in the activities
    • Provide suitable working space
    • Provide access to the hw/sw resource of the customer
    • Provide all the necessary resources for installation of the new software
  • Deliveries
    • Installed and implemented new operation system and system software
    • Implemented applications which use MQSeries
    • Installation documentation
    • Training for work with the MQSeries software lasting no more than 3 days
    • Operator’s manual
  • Completion criteria
    • Successfully verified (IVP) new software
    • Successfully performed application tests that use MQSeries software
    • Installation documentation delivered to the customer
    • Successfully completed training for work with the new software
    • Operator’s manual delivered to the customer

DB2 UDB Implementation

  • Description of activities
    • Planning, installation and configuration of DB2 UDB
    • Planning, creating and implementing applications that use DB2 UDB
  • Requirements
    • License for DB2 UDB software for platforms according to customer’s request
  • Supplier obligations (SV Group d.o.o.)
    • Planning, creating and implementing applications which use DB2 UDB
    • The supplier will appoint a service leader who will be responsible for communicating with the customer, preparing documentation and procedures for normal service operation and coordinating and managing technical activities
