Successful SPARK Workshop for a Company from Madrid, Spain

Last week, our CTO Petar Zecevic, taught another successful Apache Spark workshop. This time, Petar went at the invitation of a large Spanish IT company Amadeus from Madrid. The company has several thousand employees and is listed on the stock market. The workshop was held for their Data Science department, this time in a two-day format.

The students had the opportunity to meet Apache Spark - an exciting technology that is becoming the main system for processing large amounts of data. They got an overview of BigData's challenges and disadvantages of classic solutions, and saw how Spark elegantly addresses many of these challenges. After a shorter theoretical introduction, attendees had the opportunity to learn how to use Spark SQL, Spark Streaming and Spark Machine Learning in their everyday work.

The ten students believe that they will be able to make the most of their learning in their day-to-day work and especially praise the comprehensiveness of the knowledge of our big data specialist. It is worth mentioning that Peter is a co-author of the Spark in Action book. In recent years, he has been intensively working with Apache Spark and tries to popularize its application in Croatia, but also wider. Petar has been a speaker at several international big data conferences and runs the Apache Spark workshops.

Spark Empowerment Workshop is a part of SV Group's ongoing training offerings. The workshop is adaptable to beginners, as well as to more advanced users. Likewise, its duration adjusts to the needs of the client. It can take several hours, all day, a couple or a few days. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
